This Monte's History
Stephanie's Father, Lou Raykovich, bought this Monte Carlo in 1999 from a farmer. About 1 year after Stephanie had been hit and run in her first Monte Carlo, a 1972. (It was totaled) The farmer was asking $3,000 for the Monte. Stephanie and her Father talked him down to $1,500 and took her home.
The Monte was in BAD shape when Stephanie and her Father got it. It had a 1972 dog house on it, due to the guy wrecking it after getting drunk one night. So that was the first thing Stephanie had to fix. After that, Stephanie found a LOT of rust when taking off the stainless steel trim around the bottom edge of the car to get ready to start the body work for a new paint job. (It was 3 colors by this point.)
With the help of Stephanie's Dad, Lou Raykovich, they cut out all the rust and bad spots then replaced it all with new medal. After getting all the bad spots fixed, Stephanie decided to just keep off the stainless steel trim, so they shaved the side markers, mirrors, emblems, and hood ornament off to give it a different look from all the other First generation Montes out there.
After about 2.5 years, Stephanie got a great job where She got killer deals on Air Ride and Tires. So she thought, why not. She could not pass up the chance to put full Air Ride on the Monte for way less then market price. Just one more way to make it stand out from all the other First Generation Montes out there.
Stephanie did 60% of all the work on the Monte, and the other 40% she had helped with or had someone do it that knew what they were doing when she did not…
The Monte went through a major transformation from 1999 to 2009. The major part of the custom work and final prep took place between 2007 and 2009. When the custom work in the trunk that was done, by Mike Peplinski, owner of Asylum Autoworkers. As well as the custom Paint was put on by Matt Bluiett owner of Show Time Designs.
The Monte has appeared in a few on line digital Magazines as well as one printed national magazine and one printed local Magazine, so far. The Monte was featured in a TV show trailer located in Indianapolis, IN called "Tite Rides". And most resent in late 2020, it was featured in a music video that was shot down town Indianapolis, IN. The song is called "GAS".
Stephanie and her kids bring the Monte to a long list of shows each year so keep on a look out for updates to what shows they will be at, so maybe you can catch them at one and say “HI”. Stephanie posts the shows they will be at on Alize's fan page on FaceBook as well as the Event's tab of this web site. Check it out!
